A Decade of Lifting Spirits
December 1, 2025
Every year there are those groups that stand out because of their local advocacy and the incredible work they do. Countless hours donated by volunteers keeps many charities moving, and sometimes it can be a challenge for a business to figure out how to help. Donations are always welcome, but what about companies like Industrial Truck Service that have a pretty specialized business?
In our case we help directly, getting things moving in a way few others can. For many years now ITS has donated the use of material handling equipment to the Christmas Cheer Board. Putting our equipment to work means that volunteers and staff can focus on the important part of their work instead of having to move everything by hand; anyone who has ever had to empty a trailer by hand-bombing it will tell you that help goes a long way.
This year we expanded things a little
This year we at Industrial Truck Service made the call to expand this help beyond our usual efforts. We reached out to some groups in Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon to see if they thought a manual pallet jack would help their organizations in their daily work. Not a seasonal thing, just a flat out "you can have it for keeps" offer.
A few of them took us up on that offer, and through the work of our CSS and Equipment Sales team members we got those jacks into some places that needed a little lift to keep things moving. We asked them if it would be okay to share their information, to help get their message out to places it might not usually reach. So here we are, with our thanks to them for letting us help out.

The Christmas Cheer Board
"We at the Christmas Cheer Board are very fortunate to have the wonderful support of the folks at Industrial Truck Service. We would not be able to look after our warehouse without their support. The team at Industrial Truck are amazing and their donation is truly something we could not operate without.”
2025 marks the 10th year that we at ITS have donated the use of equipment, this year lending the Christmas Cheer Board four lift trucks. So instead of countless, hard hours of unloading trucks by hand the Cheer Board gets a powerful assist from the best in the material handling industry, and gets to focus on spreading that Christmas cheer.

Harvest Manitoba
Harvest Manitoba is a charitable organization dedicated to nourishing our communities and our sense of community so that no Manitoban goes hungry. We collect 13 million pounds of food every year, which is sorted and packed largely by volunteers into Harvest Hampers and distributed to Manitobans through our Community Food Network of more than 400 food banks and agencies in Winnipeg, rural, northern and First Nations communities. Right now, we feed over 50,000 Manitobans who rely on using a food bank every month, and nearly half are children. Our Food Distribution Centre, which includes our Emergency Food Support Assistance Line and Warehouse, are in our Winnipeg Headquarters.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Five volunteers from Winnipeg, Manitoba opened Habitat for Humanity’s first-ever ReStore in 1991. Today, there are over 100 Habitat ReStores across Canada and more than 1,000 worldwide, all raising funds to enable more families to partner with us and access affordable homeownership.
Every Habitat ReStore is different, offering a unique shopping experience for those looking to add something new to their homes. The inventory is always changing, as new items are donated by local residents and businesses daily. Consumers can expect to find items such as windows, doors, paint, hardware, lumber, tools, lighting fixtures, furniture and appliances.
Proceeds from the Habitat Restore support the administrative expenses enabling all personal and corporate donations to go directly to the construction of affordable homes for low-income working families to purchase.
Maybe stop by the ReStore for your next project and support a great organization!

"Hello Isha, and thank-you. The donation of a pallet jack is so thoughtful and will help the Friendship Inn team share meals with people in need. This is such a meaningful way to support community."
365 days a year, guests rely on the Friendship Inn to eat. We provide a Free Meal Service, offering nutritious breakfasts and lunches for vulnerable people from Saskatoon’s core neighborhoods and beyond who may otherwise go hungry. In our current fiscal year, the Inn is preparing to respond to community need with approximately 500,000 meals.

Centre Flavie
"Dear friends, this is to acknowledge your recent generous donation of a pallet jack to our organization. The jack will come in handy as we are constantly moving supplies around our building and this will greatly facilitate things in this regard."
Centre Flavie opened its doors in 2005 to assist the impoverished by providing them with free basic life essentials (clothes, furniture, beds, household items, etc.). Since our opening we have helped about 50,000 families in need. Every day between 100 and 150 families come to us seeking assistance. The Centre has five trucks that allow us to collect donations from donor homes and then deliver these goods to the people who need them. As a sampling of the work we do, last year we gave away about 3,600 beds and 2,600 sofas among the close to 9,000 different families that we helped out.
Centre Flavie does incredible work on a daily basis, so check our their website to learn more.

Siloam Mission
Siloam Mission
"Dear Friends from Industrial Truck Service,
On behalf of Siloam Mission, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of a pallet jack. Siloam Mission is a non-profit organization serving individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We provide community members with 3 nutritious meals each day, over 21000 clothing appointments each year, shelter, and support programs that foster dignity, hope, healing and recovery.
Your thoughtful gift will be put to immediate use in our basement storage area, where our Shipping and Receiving team manages the flow of Gift-In-Kind donations. With your support, they can now do twice as much work with half the amount of effort. Having an additional pallet jack dedicated to this department ensures donations are moved efficiently and without interruption.
The impact of this gift extends beyond Shipping and Receiving. Other departments, including our clothing and hygiene team as well as our MOST construction team, often rely on this equipment. By strengthening our capacity to move donations quickly, your contribution makes a world of a difference to our daily operations and to the lives of those we serve.
Thank you once again for your support. Your generosity not only improves our daily operations but also strengthens our mission to care for those in need.[...]
With heartfelt appreciation and thanks."
Guided by their vision of a Winnipeg without homelessness Siloam Mission provides housing, meals, skills training and much more to some of Winnipeg's most vulnerable populations. Founded in 1987 their focus has long been on serving communities in Winnipeg's core area, and you can find out more about their ongoing work from their website at Siloam Mission.

Agape Table is a Community Nutrition Assistance and Education Centre located at 364 Furby Street in the Downtown area. We believe there is hope in Nutrition, Empowerment and Dignity in Choice and Power for Change in the Community.
Agape Table has served our community for over 45 years. The need for our services is growing – each weekday between 700 – 1000 people visit us seeking food, clothing and smiles.
Agape Table offers hearty soup, sandwich, pastry, fruit, and vegetables in a lunch bag to everyone each weekday (40 Gallons of Soup is prepared and served every day).
We are also a Harvest Manitoba Food Bank Distribution Centre. As Harvest Manitoba has limited quantities of produce, meat and dairy products, we purchase these items from local distributors and to help us fill our lunch bags.
Agape Table is 100% donor funded; we do not receive any government funding for operations.
In 2025 we served over 188,000 meals and repurposed 1.84 million pounds of food, with only 8 staff we couldn’t possibly do this on our own. With the help of individuals and company teams volunteering over 38,000 hours of their time the magic continues to happen.
